Muqi or Muxi ç§è°ż
Fachang ĉ³ċ¸¸
He created famous monochrome ink paintings, such as his Persimmons. Muqi was a Chan Buddhist (or Zen Buddhist) monk, meaning he focused on mindfulness or living in the present. Chan Buddhists believe this can be achieved through meditation, which is the key to enlightenment.
The monk painter captures the essence of these sweet fruits using very few brushstrokes.
