Italian renaissance painter (1431–1506)

A painter most associated with northern Italy during the Renaissance, Andrea Mantegna is one of the most well-known artists of the early modern period and one of the defining artists of the fifteenth century along with Donatello.

Mantegna is known for his dedication to classical antiquity.
